Thiti Sangrungsi made his miniature sculptures from scrap, leftover or discarded materials. His animals look very much like children's toys from the small villages. He makes them for fun during his spare time. They bring him joy and bring me happiness when I see them. They remind me of the games children from small villages used to play. They use only natural materials and their imagination in making their toys. For example, the village children play with clay and make 'magaankluey' (hobby horses using banana tree leaves) and 'maaghep' (a game like jacks with small pebble. They make unique creations and without having to spend a fortune. I feel that the search for simple happiness and harmony with nature is diminishing in this "civilized" materialbased society in which happiness always comes with a return or profit.
