NDMI's mission fundamentally focuses on a learning resource in a form of modern museum which believes in the philosophy of the "Discovery Museum as a New Learning Space." This notion articulates a new style of learning era. The composition and exhibition techniques are important features that distinguish discovery museum from general museum. The permanent exhibition is designed to induce the audiences to questioning, then continue "self-discovering" in any particular or any specific subject displayed. The interactive exhibition provided acts as a medium to communicate between the exhibition and the audiences and produces a learning communication and audiences' self-learning skill. Zoning in Discovery Zone, Collection Zone, and Resource Centre. All three zones are not spaciously separated; in fact, there is a combination of every zone in each section. Programs, activities and assorted temporary exhibitions are emphasized in Discovery museum. They act as linkages to create a cheerful learning atmosphere that attracts not only adolescents, by all citizens to promptly be in touch with our dynamic society. Thus Discovery Museum is actually a "Museum for All", which does not limit to any gender, age, education background, even social status. Creating the new learning space or Discovery Museum according to the notion mentioned above, exchanging opinions with international museum veterans in a field of Discovery Museum management is considered necessary. Moreover, to crystallize the notion "discovery" and common comprehension of the Discovery Museum concept should also be taken into an account in order to further apply to the museum concept and its audiences in Thailand.
