Siam Cement Foundation in cooperation with leading educational institutions today launches the Young Thai Artist Award 2005, encouraging young art talents to create works in a competition to win over three million Baht in cash prizes.

The theme for this year competition is “Fresh New and Hot” which reflected the creative works of young art talents that vary, different, and interesting.

The Young Thai Artist Award 2005 is the art competitions in six categories: Composer, Literature, Print Making, Film, Photography, and Sculpture.

Photography Seminar @ Gallery F-Stop
This coming Sunday, February 6th, Bangkok-based photographer Marc Schultz will be leading a photography seminar at Gallery F-Stop/Tamarind Caf. There are still a few seats left.
The subject of the seminar is "Seeing The Light" and it focuses on understanding the principles of the use of light in photography. Photography starts with light and with the absence of light we are not able to create a photograph. Knowing how to use light is essential and Marc will be providing a basic understanding of how light works for photography so that you can recognize good light when you see it.
The 2.5 hour seminar starts at 2:00 PM and the cost is 1,900 Baht per person. Tea and biscuits will be served during the seminar and a written syllabus will be provided to all in attendance.
