Art for Youth at 9-12 Years of Age Course, 3rd generation starting on April 19-28, 2004 (Monday-Friday only, total 8 days), at 9.00-12.00 am.
Water Colour and Oil Colour Course,
- 11th generation starting on April 3-25, 2004
- 12th generation starting on May 1-23, 2004
will be started on Saturday and Sunday at 9.00 am.-4.00 pm.

The sculpture contest by Krung Thai Bank & Silpakorn University
Silpakorn University & Krung Thai Bank has joined together to contribute the such contest. The winner's workpieces will be exhibited at 5 branches of Krung Thai Bank. In addition, all the workpieces must be limited the high at not over 2 metre.
There are 2 categories of candidates, Invited Artists and General Artists.
1st Prize (5 Prizes) Baht 300,000 each.
2nd Prize (5 Prizes) Baht 200,000 each.
3rd Prize (5 Prizes) Baht 100,000 each.
All the workpieces must be sent on March 1-7, 2004 at the Art and Cultural Center Commemorating the 6th Cycle Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty the King (everyday, include public holiday). The result of contest will be posted on March 25, 2004. and all the winner's workpieces will be exhibited at Krung Thai Bank (Head office) on june 1-30, 2004.

The Queen Sirikit Art Museum, the first circulation of Arts and Educational Exhibition Center in Thailand has been supported by Her Majesty the Queen of Thailand
Her Majesty the Queen Sirikit will join the Grand Opening of "The Queen Sirikit Art Museum" on August 9, 2003 at Bangkok Bank, Phan-Fah bridge branch.
In this occasion, the committee has been received the highest honourable from 15 national artists of Thailand, such as, Sawasdi Tantisuk, Prayat Pongdam, Preecha Thaothong, Chalermchai Kositpipat, etc. They have shared their master piece arts-work together with their signature on Jim Thompson neck-ties and silk scarfs to be auctioned, the price will be started from Baht 25,000. Moreover, a wide range of T-shirts, poscards, and posters produced by leading thai artists will be on sold. All revenue will be contributed to The Queen Sirikit Art Museum Foundation.

Taking better photographs
Somdech Phra Srinagarindra Boromarajajonani Memorial Park will be the venue for a series of photography workshops on June 14, 15 and 21. The guests instructors will be features and travel photographer Theeraphab Lohitkul and advertising agency photographer Chaturong Hirunkan. Participants be taught basic photographic techniques and get the opportunity to try their hand at shooting pics during a visit to the Ancient City (Muang Boran) historical theme park in Samut Prakan. The fee is 1,000 baht per person, and applications will be accepted until May 30.

BA in painting conservation
Silpakorn University is currently accepting enrolments for its international bachelor's degree programme in Fine Arts (Painting Conservation) programme. The deadline for registration is May 31. This programme is a collaboration between the university and France's Restaurateurs Sans Frontieres. Four scholarships will also be offer to the most qualified applicants.

Scholarships for undergraduates
Apply before March 31 for Fulbright funding for graduate courses in the US The Thailand-United States Educational Foundation (Fulbright) announces its annual competition for Fulbright scholarships for graduate study towards a master's degree in the United States, beginning in the autumn of 2004. Applicants must be Thai citizens with a bachelor's degree from a Thai university with a GPA of ``B'' or 3.00 average, or above, and a TOEFL score of 213 from a computer-based test. Up to six grants will be available for the 2004 competition in a wide variety of fields with the exception of medicine, public health, nursing and allied subjects. Further

The local architecture and design industry is getting a major push with the official launch of a new Thai-language Web site.
I-Spec invites Thai architects and designers to register free of charge on the site, www.SpecEasy.com, which provides industry news and services, including information on online sourcing and quotation development as well as catalogues from leading suppliers in Bangkok. Art auction
An auction entitled "Art for Public Health in Communities, in Honour of Her Royal Highness Princess Galyani Vadhana" will be held on Saturday from 3 to 6pm at the Lertvanalai Ballroom on the 1st floor of the Hilton International Bangkok. The work of 19 well-known artists including National Artist Prayat Pongdam, Preecha Taothong and Thawal Dutchanee will be going under the hammer. The Princess will officially open the auction at 5pm.

Summer-holiday courses for children
Learn Japanese, Chinese and traditional handicrafts and have fun The Technology Promotion Association (Thailand-Japan) will hold a summer programme for children aged eight to 13, from April 17 to 30. Art contest to mark anniversary
Silpakorn University offers big prizes for original work
In celebration of its 60th anniversary, Silpakorn University is holding a printing and line-drawing contest. Applicants are invited to submit work any time between March 1 and April 30. Both Thai and international artists are welcome.
Submissions should have been completed no later than last year and should not have been entered for other competitions. Prizes of between 45,000 and 300,000 baht will be given.

Garden show

Thainox Steel Ltd sponsoring its first design contest
Thainox Steel Ltd is staging their "1st Thainox Design Award 2003", open to architects and interior designers who can best integrate stainless steel in innovative, original creations.
The contest is divided into two categories. Professionals, both individuals and companies, can submit completed projects located in Thailand that have integrated stainless steel for functional and aesthetic purposes. Students are also invited to send in designs in A1 format, clearly indicating the areas using stainless steel.
The prizes include a one-week trip to France, trophies and cash.

Close encounters of the robotic kind
The Children's Discovery Museum is inviting children to come and have an encounter with a robot called Asimo (Advanced Step in Innovative Mobility) at the museum.
With high technology called "I-Walk", the robot can mobilise itself in a manner similar to that of human beings. Asimo will show off his abilities _ to wave his hands, walk, climb up stairs, and dance, for example.
The robot will be stationed at the auditorium on the 2nd floor of Museum Building 2.
And for the festive season, the museum plans to special, fun-packed activities from December 28 to January 5. Young visitors whose birthdays fall during this time (and who must show their birth certificate) will be given a VIP card to visit the museum with their families free throughout the next year.
Also, the musem is iniviting children to participate in naming the museum's mascots. Winners will scholarships valued at more than 10,000 baht.
The deadline for contest entries is January 5.
